I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ll be editing New Zealand videos the rest of my life. That is okay, though, because each one of them brings back wonderful memories from our trip. It is like living the adventure all over again. I hope you are enjoying them as much we are. 🙂 (Also, I recommend clicking the title and watching the video on the Vimeo website in HD & full screen. Vimeo won’t let me embed the HD version in my website).
Out of all my New Zealand video’s thus far, this one has been the most challenging. I shot well over 240 minutes of video this day and to narrow it down to 10 minutes was tough. There are no words eloquent enough to describe the beauty of this place. I wanted to include every minute of video. Leaving out any corner of this magical place seemed like a travesty. I also wanted to do due justice in editing the video. We all know that photos and video do not properly portray how beautiful or spellbinding things are in real life. I did my best to salvage what I could from the shaky boat footage. Shooting video in nature does not always work out as planned. I had tried to capture quite a bit of audio but none of it turned out due to the technical issues and the wet environment. If nothing else, I hope the majesty of this Fiord came across. Surrounded by 2000ft walls on all sides and miles of water beneath, Doubtful Sound will, literally, take your breath away.
